NYFW Street Style

New York, among many other cities, is a fashion capital of the world. New York Fashion Week just passed, setting trends and kicking off many other fashion weeks. Although the runways are unique and many future trends are spotted, street style has the same effect. Both pieces on and off the runway are chic and sophisticated. Many good dupes for these high end looks can be found at Zara where the same sleek aesthetic seems to be the focus.

Staples such as long coats, fur lined coats, and straight and wide legged jeans were seen in many street style looks. Although these pieces are basics everyone added their own twist. For example, many jackets were quilted or had a pattern, a trend seen on and off the runway. They were also oversized and many times had color blocking details. Along with color blocking, the already existing trend of checkerboard seemed to be prominent. Blazers, a go to piece for many, were styled elegantly and were often checkered or decorated with a delicate, yet bold, houndstooth. Monochromatic outfits which consisted of layering were a popular choice, as well as mixing patterns.
